PowerizeD has been featured in German Success Stories from EU Projects – Research and Innovation for Europe’s Digital Infrastructure 2025, a yearbook published by NKS DIT – the National Contact Point for Digital and Industrial Technologies, part of Germany’sofficial Horizon Europe support network coordinated by the DLR Project Management Agency (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The annual publication highlights outstanding European initiatives advancing the continent’s digital infrastructure, sustainability, and technological sovereignty. The Success Stories 2025 yearbook by NKS DIT features EU projects that are shaping Europe’s digitalfuture, from high-performance computing and quantum technologies to data spaces, AI networks, and power electronics.
The M30 PowerizeD project's General Assembly Meeting concludedsuccessfully at Aalto University in Helsinki.
It was a highly productive gathering, featuring in-depth discussions on the project's overall impact and key exploitation insights. We also benefited from several engaging parallel sessions. Our sincere gratitude goes to Vesa Vuorinen and Mervi Paulasto-Kröckel for their wonderful hospitality as our hosts at Aalto University. We'd also like to extend a thank you to Kempower and ABB for their support in sponsoring the dinner and arranging such insightful site visits; special recognition goes to Petri Korhonen (Kempower) and Joonas Leppänen and Matti Kauhanen (ABB). Lastly, a big thank you to our coordinators, Jochen Koszescha and Daniela Maier, for their excellent organization of another seamless and successful meeting.
Yesterday we had a site visit at ABB, where we explored their cutting-edge facilities and engaged in productive discussions regarding their current actions and ongoing work.. A huge thank you to the entire ABB team for making this visit so insightful.
Our partner Veli-Matti Leppänen, Principal Engineer retd. at ABB Helsinki, will be presenting a paper at the upcoming ECCE Europe 2025 conference. This event for power electronics professionals will take place in Birmingham, UK, from August 30 to September 4, 2025.
Veli-Matti's presentation will highlight a key contribution from the PowerizeD project, showcasing our efforts in advancing digitalized and intelligent power electronics.
The ECCE Europe conference is a prime venue for sharing cutting-edge research and fostering collaboration across the power electronics community. Further details regarding the specific paper topic and presentation schedule will be shared on our website closer to the conference date.

In the next decades, power electronic system develop ment will be driven by energy saving systems, intelligent energy management, power quality, system miniaturisation and high reliability. Monolithic and hybrid system integration will comprise advanced device concepts including wide bandgap devices, new packaging technologies and the overall integration of actuators/drives (mechatronic integration).
CIPS is consequently focused on the following main aspects:
Basic technologies for integrated power electronic systems as well as upcoming new important applications will be presented in interdisciplinary invited papers.
In 2026, the successful story of CIPS will continue as the conference‘s focus is today more important than ever – increasing functionality, energy efficiency and system reliability while decreasing cost.
