PowerizeD was present to the audience of PCIM Europe-the leading international exhibition and conference for Power Electronics, Intelligent Motion, Renewable Energy, and Energy Management, the PCIM Europe is the global meeting point for the industry.
The project Coordinator, Jochen Koszescha, gave a brief presentation about the project, its goals, and mega trends addressed within the project at the international event for power electronics and its applications, where representatives from industry and science meet trends and developments that are presented to the public for the first time- such as ambitious PowerizeD!
You can find more information here, and you can also view the recording of the presentation if you have PCIM Europe digital access.
We are proud to share more details about our exciting project - PowerizeD!
The project’s team is working to develop innovative solutions for a greener and more sustainable future. Check out the video to see PowerizeD in action
This project is a groundbreaking initiative to revolutionize how we generate and consume energy. With PowerizeD, we aim to develop breakthrough technology for digitized and intelligent power electronics, to enable sustainable and resilient energy generation, transmission, and applications.
Key objectives of PowerizeD:
Together, we can make a difference and pave the way for a more sustainable world. Join us on this exciting journey! Let's Powerize the world and inspire others to join the movement toward a greener future!
We invite you to read some of the latest Power Electronics news in the newest Power Electronics World Magazine issue 1, 2023. You will learn that WIDE bandgap power semiconductors devices play a significant role in many applications based on silicon carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) and are evolving fast. Still, power electronics are much more than new materials. And most importantly, Powerized is on page number 6!
On February 28th we have PowerizeD Use Case 5 kick-off meeting in Reutlingen. PowerizeD research project addresses aspects of power electronics from materials to systems across application five areas: semiconductor; traction; automotive; industry market; electric energy. Use Case 5 focuses on the automotive industry, specifically smart inverters. Together with our partners, we will work along the entire supply chain on novel digitized test strategies to bring beyond state-of-the-art simulation techniques, such as the compact digital twin, into industrial applications.
We are happy to announce that the PowerizeD project was presented at the Digital conference "Green ICT 2023 - Sustainable information and communication technologies" on March 7, 2023! Orgnazined by the Germany National authority- The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) that has launched the Green ICT/Green ICT research initiative and has undertaken numerous funding measures for innovative solutions in this field.
Our project coordinator Jochen Koszescha introduced Powerized in a discussion round block I, "Energy saving ICT and green software."
More than 200 participants attended the event!
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has launched the Green ICT research initiative and numerous funding measures for innovative solutions in this field.
The rapid spread of information and communication technologies (ICT) is both an opportunity and a challenge for sustainability.
On the one hand, smart digitalized solutions can often save resources. On the other hand, digital technology itself increasingly consumes resources.
A sustainable digital transformation requires the development of powerful but also energy and resource-saving information and communication technologies (ICT).
Only in this way can digitalization fully unfold its positive effects and, at the same time, maximize its contribution to sustainable development.
During the digital conference initiated by BMBF, "Green ICT - Sustainable Information and Communication Technologies."
Participants could learn about the new Green ICT Competence Centre of the Forschungsfabrik Mikroelektronik Deutschland (FMD).
As well as knowing more about current projects from research and development that presented themselves and their results, questions about political control mechanisms and social responsibility were also addressed and discussed.

In the next decades, power electronic system develop ment will be driven by energy saving systems, intelligent energy management, power quality, system miniaturisation and high reliability. Monolithic and hybrid system integration will comprise advanced device concepts including wide bandgap devices, new packaging technologies and the overall integration of actuators/drives (mechatronic integration).
CIPS is consequently focused on the following main aspects:
Basic technologies for integrated power electronic systems as well as upcoming new important applications will be presented in interdisciplinary invited papers.
In 2026, the successful story of CIPS will continue as the conference‘s focus is today more important than ever – increasing functionality, energy efficiency and system reliability while decreasing cost.
